This piece was done in both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The giraffe head I painted by hand with water colors. I then scanned it into Photoshop to enhance it slightly. The foliage was all drawn in Illustrator. I wanted the giraffe to have a soft look while staying with a graphic look for the foliage. This illustration started as a colored pencil drawing. I scanned it into Photoshop. I then optimized and selected the image. After selecting the image I dropped out the paper background and was left with a clean selection of just the mouse and tree branch. I then placed it into Illustrator and added the foliage and background. I have featured this piece in my Encouraging Words book that you can purchase from the Kindle store on amazon.com. I started this illustration with a simple pencil sketch. I then scanned it into Photoshop and placed it into Illustrator. I wanted to keep the emphasis on the expression more then all of the details of an eagles head. I feel that Illustrator is a great tool for clean edged illustration.

Sarah is a character that you might find in the Choose Your Own Adventure story at tinyhaven.com. I started with a pencil sketch of Sarah and some bird concepts. Then I scanned in the sketches and produced the entire painting in Photoshop CC.
In Tiny Haven, it’s always difficult dealing with un-invited guests. This illustration started as a water color painting. I brought it into Photoshop CC and with minimal digital enhancements I produced the final mixed media painting.
Rivkah stops along her journey to wonder if she will ever find Shamgarn. She has been looking for him throughout the plains in
